Walters Family Foundation donates $70,000 to Cornelius Public Library
Walters Family Foundation had the honor of visiting the Cornelius Public Library this past July 2017. Board Members Jamie Ali and Clifford Walters met with Karen Hill, Library Director, and Richard Meyer, Chairman of the Library’s Foundation. A hot topic of discussion was the construction project for the new Cornelius Public Library.
Glenn and Viola Walters, founders of the Walters Family Foundation, had an appreciation of the arts and were very supportive of the community of Cornelius throughout the years. With this in mind, the board of the Walters Family Foundation was excited to donate $70,000 to the Cornelius Public Library’s capital program.
Over the past six years, the Walters Family Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Cornelius Library for book acquisition and technology upgrades. As published in the Hillsboro Tribune, Clifford Walters, President of the Walters Family Foundation said “We are pleased to support the development of the new Cornelius Public Library for its role in improving early reading and literacy, student success programs and adult education. We are committed to supporting organizations like the public library that enables our citizens to lead happy, productive lives.”
